GSHS Agreement Online & Online Submission Instructions
Fairfax County is requiring an Agreement with the Gum Springs Historical Society (GSHS) in order to occupy space in the Gum Springs Community Center. Such an Agreement is a requirement for all non-profit organizations occupying space in a county-owned facility.
The Mount Vernon Magisterial District Supervisor is seeking feedback from the entire Gum Springs community prior to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approving the Agreement and has no objection for the Agreement being available to you online for your review and comment.
to view the Agreement. Please note that the annotated revised version may not be in synch with the original revised version because of the scanning and conversion process to edit the document. None of the original language in the revised version was changed.
The President of the New Gum Springs Civic Association (Civic Association) has reviewed the Agreement along with the Gum Springs Community Center Advisory Board and Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood & Community Services. As a result of that review, additional language has been proposed. Click here to view the revised Agreement by the president.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns about the Agreement, please provide using the form below. All validated comment submissions will be consolidated and incorporated as one community response for further consideration by the Mount Vernon Magisterial District Supervisor.
Please also note that a "no response" indicates acceptance of the proposed additional language and no need to submit the form below.
Although visitors to the museum may reside outside Gum Springs, the review and comment solicitation is primarily for the residents of Gum Springs. Therefore, to ensure that only Gum Springs residents, participate in providing comments for the Agreement, you must use the form below or attend the regularly scheduled community meeting on October 10th. You may also bring your comments to the October 10th Civic Association (community) meeting. You will be required to provide residency proof. Comments from others may be accepted during the October 10th community meeting.
To maintain the integrity of the online comment submission process, your contact information is required only to validate your residency within Gum Springs boundaries, to contact you to clarify your comment, if necessary and to ensure one submission per person--similar to certifying your identity for voting in a general or presidential election. The information requested is the same information requested on the Sign-in sheet for attending community meetings and in compliance with our bylaws.
Online submissions must be submitted no later than October 9th.
