The following Notice of Resignation was provided to the Gum Springs Community Center Advisory Board (Advisory Board).
The Gum Springs Advisory Council (GSAC) was created under the umbrella of the Civic Association. The GSAC has since been replaced by the Advisory Board, which is an independent organization.
The Civic Association resigned from the Advisory Board and not from communicating with or severing its relationship with the Advisory Board. The Civic Association will continue to have a relationship with the Advisory Board much like all relationships it has with other organizations and partners.
This resignation is no different from resigning from any other organization and has no impact on the financial position, management and operation of either the Advisory Board or Civic Association. Both organizations will retain their independency.
A special meeting is not warranted because the matter is not time sensitive. However, posting the notice for view and comment is a viable alternative without jeopardizing anyone's health and safety, particularly during COVID-19.
If you "oppose" the Notice of Resignation, please explain how the management and operation of both the Civic Association and Advisory Board are affected in your comment. Provide specific reasons so that we can discuss during a community meeting.

President, Gum Springs Community Center Advisory Board
Effective July 4, 2020, the New Gum Springs Civic Association (Civic Association) is providing this notice of resignation as a member of the Gum Springs Community Center Advisory Board (Advisory Board).
With this resignation, the Civic Association proffer funds shall no longer be a part of the Advisory Board’s financial report. As required by the proffer, use of the proffer funds shall be in accordance with the proffer requirements to include request for use and approval on the letterhead of the Civic Association.
The Civic Association is thankful for the opportunity in working with NCS (formerly Community & Recreation Services) in the creation of an Advisory Council to act under the auspices of the Civic Association. The Civic Association feel that its contribution has met its limit and recognize the Advisory Board as an independent organization whose name, purpose and board composition has changed since its creation.
Finally, the New Gum Springs Civic Association will continue to be the official voice of the Gum Springs community; particularly, in matters that may affect the quality of life for Gum Springs residents regardless of origination.
Best wishes to you and the other Advisory Board members going forward.
President, New Gum Springs Civic Association
